Beaming into our lives from the big screen, the medium screen (TV's), the little screen (computers, etc.),  and the tiny screen (our phones), Denzel Washington has been a father, brother, uncle, cousin, beloved teacher, and friend to millions of people worldwide. He's taught us what it means to love people, for their complexities and nuances, their imperfections, and their growth. We loved him the first time we met him in "A Soldier's Story", and we've loved him ever since. But impossible as it seems, we love him even more for what he's given us off the screen. Denzel Washington an actor, sure.. An activator, amplifier, and a buttress for what's necessary and good in this world...definitely.
